Job Description:

Local Natural and Organic food Manufacturer is seeking a Human Resources Director to oversee their Human Resources department, including functional departments, serve as a business partner and advisor to the President and Founder, as well as the Vice President of the Company, and administer key HR strategies and programs for the Company. In a company of just over 200 employees, this position will report to the President/Founder, and has four major direct reports, and two junior reports. Ideal Candidate should be a comprehensive HR Generalist with at least 10 years of experience. This person should be very diplomatic, thick-skinned, flexible, able to prioritize and multi-task effectively, have excellent attention to detail, be comfortable speaking publicly, be comfortable navigating the culture of a family-run company. Background would be beneficial if out of manufacturing, as the candidate will have experience with production personnel. Candidate should be a hands-on person who is comfortable wearing many hats and being involved in the day-to-day aspects of just about anything.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
· Act as a consultant, the HR Management Lead will guide manager and supervisory personnel on effectively managing the organization through recruiting, selection, development, performance management, compensations, employee engagement, team building, retention and succession planning to create a high-performing sustainable organization that meets its strategic and operational goals.
· Assist in administration of the annual performance management and merit review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity within the organization.
· Ensure timely procession of all union-related increases and/or rate changes as dictated by ratification agreement.
· Supervise HR Associates in maintenance of ADP/HRIS database, new employee orientations and on-boarding programs, benefits open enrollments and report maintenance.
· Conduct investigations and advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
· Supervise Safety Coordinator to ensure overall employee Safety/OSHA standards are followed.

Requirements:

- B.A. or B.S.
- SPHR or PHR preferred
- MBA preferred
- OSHA-10 certification or comprehensive knowledge of and experience with
- NO pet allergies (dogs in office daily)
- Experience with: ADP Workforce Now, MS Office (Word and Excel primarily), Grammar/Punctuation skills
- Must have payroll experience
- MUST have Union experience, union and labor relations experience
- Must have knowledge of employment law
- Must have recruiting experience at many levels
- Must know ACA
- Must be familiar with GHS (Global Harmonization System) and what companies are required to have
